Chinese internet and technology conglomerate LeEco on Tuesday announced that it is planning to hire over 1,100 engineers for its India Research and Development (R&D) centre by 2017.
The majority of the hiring will be from engineering colleges like the IITs and NITs across the country, the company said in a statement.
Last week, LeEco organised a freshers` campus drive in Bengaluru and garnered more than 2,000 registrations from students from top engineering colleges.
"The skill sets we are looking for are in areas including modem technologies, BSP, multimedia, TV broadcast and internet technologies," said Shrinivas Bairi, Head, LeEco India R&D, in a statement.
The India R&D team will be involved in both commercialisation and localisation support for all the devices launched in the country.
LeEco will also start a camera-image engineering lab for image quality, RF/antenna design and tuning lab for smart devices.
LeEco`s R&D centre will support all India launches and will test futuristic smart devices across all the geographical conditions as well as different network signal strength.
