Indian automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki on Thursday announced that its urban compact SUV variant – Vitara Brezza crossed one lakh cumulative sales milestone in the domestic market.
Almost a year to the date, the Vitara Brezza was launched in March 2016 and was designed and developed in India with help from the Japanese multinational corporation - Suzuki.
Shares of the company climbed 0.6% to trade at Rs 5,956.80 per share on BSE Sensex intraday.
Commenting on this occasion, R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “Vitara Brezza has been a game changer for Maruti Suzuki. With its bold and sporty looks, contemporary interiors and feature-rich character, Vitara Brezza has addressed all parameters that customers expect from a compact SUV.”
Brezza has won the Indian Car of the Year Award 2017 (ICOTY).
“It was also the first car in India to be certified for offset and side impact crash tests that will be enforced in India in October 2017 onwards,” the company said.
