Automobile major Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday said it will resume production at its Gurgaon facilities from the second half of Wednesday.
The company had to suspended production of cars at its Manesar and Gurgaon facilities from the second half of Monday, due to component supply constraints.
According to the company, a fire at its component manufacturer Subros` production facility on Sunday (May 29) disrupted the supplies. "Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will resume manufacture of vehicles at its Gurgaon facilities from second half Wednesday (June 1)," the company said in a statement.
"Certain operations in the Manesar campus, including casting and manufacture of transmissions, will also resume in the second half on Wednesday." The statement added that Subros and MSIL are jointly working on options to obtain supply of components from other facilities and gradually bring operations back to normal.
