SpiceJet adds 10 new flights in South India; to connect Chennai to Mangaluru

Besides increasing frequencies on its existing routes in south India, budget airline SpiceJet will launch flights in the Chennai-Mangaluru sector from June. Bombardier Q-400 regional jets will be operated on the route, the airline said in a statement.
Spicejet will launch daily direct flights on the Chennai-Mangaluru-Chennai sector from June 16. An additional evening flight will be given on the Hyderabad-Rajahmundry from May 25. Chennai-Kozhikode and Bengaluru-Kozhikode would have an additional evening flight and Chennai-Hyderabad a third flight, from June 16.
Shilpa Bhatia, chief sales and revenue officer, SpiceJet, said the airline is on the path of a major fleet expansion which means new routes and destinations for its customers. "We have introduced evening flights on key sectors which will operate in addition to the existing morning flights and help business travellers conveniently plan same day trips," PTI quoted Shilpa Bhatia as saying.
Spicejet at present operates 412 daily flights to 55 destinations on average, including 48 domestic and seven international ones. It has a fleet of 37 Boeing 737NG and 22 Bombardier Q-400s for these routes.
