Mission Mangal box office collection: With Mission Mangal, Akshay Kumar has continued his impressive run at the box office, with almost no one remembering when his last failure had come. The actor had got a superb start with his latest release that earned a whopping Rs 29 crore on day 1. The film did exceptionally well even on its second weekend, raking in Rs 15.30 crore on its second Sunday and surpassing the Rs 150 crore mark in the process. This has made Mission Mangal Akshay Kumar's second fastest film to achieve the feat, beating his last release Kesari which took 25 days to reach the figure.
Mission Mangal, on the other hand, reached the benchmark on 11th day of its release. At the end of Sunday, Mission Mangal box office collection stood at Rs 164.61 crore with the film showing no signs of slowing down. "#MissionMangal is displaying strong legs at the BO... Continues to surprise with solid trending on [second] Sat and Sun... No action / commercial trappings, yet the numbers are truly outstanding... [Week 2] Fri 7.83 cr, Sat 13.32 cr, Sun 15.30 cr. Total: ₹ 164.61 cr. India biz," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Mission Mangal had reached the Rs 100 crore mark on the fifth day and since then, has added another Rs 64 crore in the next six days despite the box-office clash with John Abraham's Batla House. The only other Akshay Kumar film to reach the mark before Mission Mangal is 2.0. The Hindi version of the Rajinikanth starrer had take just 10 days to achieve the feat.

Meanwhile, Batla House also continues to do well and was helped by the Janmashtami festivities. It has earned Rs 83.78 crore so far and should easily go past the Rs 100 crore mark. "#BatlaHouse has been appreciated and that’s reflecting in its numbers... Additionally, lack of major release + #Janmashtami festivities have helped put up a strong total in Weekend 2... [Week 2] Fri 4.15 cr, Sat 6.58 cr, Sun 7.21 cr. Total: ₹ 83.78 cr. India biz," Adarsh said in another tweet.
The major challenge for both these release awaits in the form of Saaho. Starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, the film is set to hit the big screens on coming Friday amid high buzz.
