Diesel price today up by 5-6 p; Delhi rate back to Rs 65-mark, Mumbai sees most hike; check other cities
Diesel prices reached an all-time high in the country on the back of higher international crude oil.
Diesel price in India today: Where petrol prices have been quite volatile, the price of diesel too has witnessed continuous hike in various metro cities, which has already reached to all-time high in the country. Unlike, petrol prices, the state-owned oil companies today decided to hike the prices of diesel in the range of 5 paisa to 6 paisa per litre. Meanwhile the price of petrol was increased by 2 paisa per litre each on Saturday. International oil prices surged on Friday, making the largest weekly gain since July, supported by concerns about the possibility of Western military action in Syria and reports of dwindling global oil inventories.
Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was available at Rs 65.01 per litre higher by 5 paisa from previous day prices of Rs 64.96 per litre.
Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly diesel in this city surged by 5 paisa and was available at Rs 67.70 per litre compared to the previous day price of Rs 67.65 per litre.
Diesel price in Mumbai: Unlike other metro cities, diesel here saw most hike by 6 paisa and was valued at Rs 69.23 per litre versus previous day price of Rs 69.17 per litre. Diesel in this city has been very expensive.
Diesel price in Chennai: The product in this city also surged by 5 paisa and stood at Rs 68.58 per litre - in comparison with previous day price of Rs 68.53 per litre.
Diesel prices in other state capitals: The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 66.11 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 68.41 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 69.75 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 63.11 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 65.33 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 69.82 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 70.63 per litre, Jaipur at Rs 69.32 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 65.17 per litre, Patna at Rs 69.63 per litre, Raipur at Rs 70.21 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 68.33 per litre.
Moreover, Brent crude recovered from losses early in the session and settled up 56 cents at $72.58 a barrel, with a $5.48 weekly gain, or 8 percent. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 32 cents to $67.39 a barrel, up 8 percent for the week.
