The Arundhati Gold Scheme is going to be implemented from 1 January, 2020. But there are some conditions which have to be met to avail this scheme.
Arundhati Gold Scheme: There is good news for girls who are getting married in 2020. Assam Government has announced the launch of 'Arundhati Swarna Yojana', which will be effective from 1 January, 2020. Under this scheme, state government will give each beneficiary bride a fixed amount to buy 10 grams (one tola) of gold during her marriage if it is registered.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal named the scheme "Arundhati Swarna Yojana". The scheme was first announced last month.
The 'Arundhati Swarna Yojana' scheme is going to be implemented from 1 January, 2020. But there are some conditions which have to be met to avail this scheme.
The 'Arundhati Swarna Yojana' scheme will cost around Rs 800 crore annually on the state government's exchequer.
The conditions for availing 'Arundhati Swarna Yojana' scheme are as follows:
1. The relatives of the bride will have to get the wedding registered.
2. The bride should have studied to at least 10th standard.
3. The annual income of the bride's family should be less than 5 lakh rupees.
4. Minimum age should be 18 years and 21 years for the bride and bridegroom respectively.
5. The benefit of Arundhati Swarna Yojana will be given on the girl's first marriage only. That is, you will not get the benefit of this scheme if there is a 2nd marriage involved.
Notably, to avail this benefit, the eligible bride and bridegroom must apply for the scheme before the date of their wedding.
Gift in form of cash:
Bride will not get 10 grams of jewelry, that is, gold will not be given in physical form. After marriage registration and verification Rs 30,000 will be provided to make the purchase.
Steps to get the 'Arundhati Swarna Yojana' gift:
1. The relatives of the bride will have to get the wedding registered.
2. Marriage has to be registered under the Special Marriage Act 1956
3. After that, you have to submit Rs 30000 of jewelery purchased by bride's family.
