Kesari box office collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar starrer sets new record, becomes fastest in 2019 to do this

Kesari box office collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari has become the fastest movie to cross Rs 100 crore level in 2019. The film has collected Rs 100 crore in just seven days since its release. While other movies like Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy and Ajay Devgan's Total Dhamaal surpassed the benchmark level in eight and nine days, respectively.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh talked about latest box office numbers of Kesari on Twitter and wrote, “#Kesari is now *fastest* ₹ 100 cr grosser of 2019 [so far]… Crosses ₹ 100 cr on Day 7… Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.75 cr, Sat 18.75 cr, Sun 21.51 cr, Mon 8.25 cr, Tue 7.17 cr, Wed 6.52. Total: ₹ 100.01 cr. India biz… ₹ 100 cr in days: #GullyBoy [Day 8]. #TotalDhamaal [Day 9].”

The film witnessed an excellent opening on March 21st (Holi). It managed to earn a whopping number Rs 21.51 crore on its day 1. While Kesari was sitting on a collection of Rs 78.07 crore at the end of the week. Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari has Akshay Kumar, who is playing Havildar Ishar Singh, the leader of the Sikhs.

The film revolves around the Battle of Saragarhi that was fought between the Sikh regiment of the British army and Afghani tribe in 1897. The Afghans were in thousands in against just 21 Sikhs, who fought till the last breath. The audience has so far appreciated the film, while critics have also shared positive statement about the Karan Johar’s production.
