Maharashtra Budget 2020: Know key highlights
Various announcements for major reforms and benefits have been made. In the budget, Pawar announced that 1% exemption will be given on stamp duty to the construction sector for the next 2 years, notably this exemption is only for Mumbai, Pune metropolitan area.
Mahrashtra Budget 2020 : The first budget of the Maha Vikas Aghaadi Government, led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, was presented today ie, 06th March 2020. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the budget in the Assembly. Various announcements for major reforms and benefits have been made. In the budget, Pawar announced that 1% exemption will be given on stamp duty to the construction sector for the next 2 years, notably this exemption is only for Mumbai, Pune metropolitan area.
An additional tax of Rs 1 has been imposed on Petrol and diesel .
Maharashtra Government promises to provide 10 lakh jobs in next 5 years.
Big announcement from Ajit Pawar's budget speech:
1. 1% VAT on stamp duty to be deducted, which was 6% early and now comes to 5%.
2. A provision of Rs 22 thousand crore has been made for the state farmers.
3. The MLA's Fund for Local Area Development (LAD) was increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore.
4. The government plans to set up 75 dialysis centers in an effort to set up dialysis facilities at a distance of 50 km from home.
5. Pawar announced the provision of Rs 1200 crore for Mumbai-Goa highway for land acquisition.
6. For the year 2020-2021, the Environmental department will be funded Rs 230 crores for its awareness programmes
7. The government has made a provision of 6 thousand crores for the field of education.
8. 1600 new buses will be purchased for Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation. These buses will have Wi-Fi facility.
