Monsoon 2019 Alert: Expect rains from this date; Check weather forecast for next four days

Monsoon 2019: Rains are expected to enter India through the southern coast around June 8, according to the India Meteorological Department. The arrival of monsoon will mark the start of the four-month rainy season, which is crucial for the country's farm-dependent economy. Normally, monsoon rains arrive in Kerala around June 1 and retreat from Rajasthan by September. Earlier, the IMD had forecast arrival of monsoon rains over Kerala on June 6. People across the country are waiting for the monsoon rains to get respite from the heat wave and secure drinking water. The heat wave has dried up reservoirs and sent the temperatures soaring in many parts of the country. The country is expected to see average monsoon rains this year.
