11.37 am Update
NSE has been unable to resolve the technical glitch and trading hasn't resumed as on 11 am for pre-market and 11.15 am for market opening as the stock exchange had said earlier.
The stock exchange has refused to give a timeline of when will trading resume on July 10. Bloomberg quoted NSE spokersperson as saying, "Trading is expected to resume later today."
Even as the BSE touched its all-time high 31,510.62 points on Monday July 10, 2017 a major technical glitch hit India's largest stock exchange -- NSE.
NSE said, "Due to technical reasons in cash market, trading has been stopped in both Cash and F&O segment of NSE. The technical team of NSE is looking into the issue. Market re-open time will be intimated shortly."
NSE said that it has issued notice to traders on its BOLT platform and said that its cash platform will see normal trading from 11.15 am.
Pre-opening trading for this cash market will open at 11 am, NSE said.
Traders complained that they were not able to place trades on NSE's platform as stock prices and futures and options prices did not get updated.
NSE accepted that there was a technical glitch and said that it was trying to resolve the same at the earliest.
The stock exchange said that it shut down F&O segment at 9.55 am. The Economic Times reported that around 10.20 am, the bourse said the glitch had been fixed and announced a pre-open session at 10.30 and start of trade in both cash and F&O segments from 10.45. But the glitch didn’t allow that.
