PM Modi embarks on a 5 nation tour; check out his itinerary
PM Modi will first visit Afghanistan to jointly inaugurate Afghan-India Friendship Dam with President Ashraf Ghani in Herat city.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start his five-day nation tour that will include his first visits to Qatar, Switzerland and Mexico since coming to power, on Saturday.
PM Modi will first visit Afghanistan to jointly inaugurate Afghan-India Friendship Dam with President Ashraf Ghani in Herat city. The dam is a multi-purpose project planned for generating 42 megawatts of power, irrigating 75,000 hectares of land, said the Twitter handle of PM Modi on Friday. It is a landmark infrastructure project undertaken by the Government of India on river Chist-e-Sharif in Herat city.

On the invitation of the Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani PM Modi will visit the country on Saturday and will continue the tour till June 5. His visit to Qatar is aimed at strengthening economic and people-to-people ties between India and Qatar.

He will then visit to Geneva city of Switzerland in the evening of June 5. He will hold meeting with President Johann Schneider-Ammann to strengthen India's bilateral and multilateral co-operation. The government's agenda during this meet is to expand economic and investment ties with Switzerland.

PM Modi will reach to Washington DC in the US in the evening of June 6. He will meet President Barack Obama on June 7. He will address the 40th AGM of the US India Business Council (USIBC) and will meet US business leaders who have shown renewed confidence in the Indian economy.

On his last day of the tour PM Modi will visit to Mexico on June 8. He looks forward to a meet with Mexico's President Peña Nieto in order to strengthen India's partnership with the country.
