Good news for iPhone users! Soon, you will get this new WhatsApp update
The new audio playback update is working fine in case of both voice playback and audio files. After this, now WhatsApp's iOS based users will be able to listen to audio files that they receive in chats in the notification window.
WhatsApp has rolled out a new beta update for iOS users, which allows few iPhone users to playback audio even when phone is locked. This new feature in notifications is only for the iPhone users and has been spotted in iOS beta 2.19.91.1 beta version. The new audio playback update is working fine in case of both voice playback and audio files. After this, now WhatsApp's iOS based users will be able to listen to audio files that they receive in chats in the notification window.
The audio playback update includes audio files like music files, audio files, voice messages etc. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has already begun rolling out the audio playback feature to some users. This means that the company should roll out the this feature on its main app soon. Besides the audio playback feature, WhatsApp is also working to add memoji stickers on to its iOS based app. However, this feature is still in the developmental phase and we will have to wait and watch when the company rolls this feature out to its beta users.
The interesting thing about the new feature is that WhatsApp will not mark your read receipts if you listen to an audio file in the notification window. The blog reports said that the read receipts will be marked only when you open the app, which is similar to the functionality available for text messages.
To use the audio playback feature on phone, iPhone users can download and install WhatsApp Beta for iOS version 2.19.90.8 or WhatsApp Business Beta version 2.19.90.8. While, if you are already using the one of these version of the app, you can ask someone to send you and audio file and listen to the audio file while phone is locked. However, other users will have to wait for some more time to get this new feature on app.
