These sites offer you more value for your old phones; should you still ‘buy with exchange’ on Flipkart, Amazon?

E-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart now regularly feature exchange offers for your current smartphone in order to push sales for their exclusive deals with phonemakers.

Apart from their regular and special discounts, offering a special price for selling the old phone to them brings the price of the new smartphone down considerably making the decision-making easier for the consumer. 

Zeebiz has earlier reported on deals given by Flipkart that included up to Rs 10,000 off on purchase of iPhone 7 by exchanging the iPhone 6s Plus.

Higher discounts were offered for much more recently released smartphones like the Google Pixel which would get customers the full discount offered on the iPhone 7 of Rs 15000.  

But are these e-commerce websites offering you the best deals for your old phone? 

For the same iPhone 6s, ‘SahiValue’ offers customers the chance to sell it on the site for up to Rs 42,500 for the 128 GB variant. 

Flipkart and Amazon are ready to buy your iPhone 6s if you trade it in for Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,600, respectively. 

The iPhone SE can be sold for Rs 13,748 on Cashify whereas Flipkart is offering Rs 4,400 while Amazon is at Rs 7,100 for your old iPhone SE.

OnePlus 3T’s 64GB variant can be sold on Cashify for Rs 18,140. However the phones must pass functionality tests like does it switch on and verification of other functional aspects of the phone.

The same phone can be sold on SahiValue for Rs 21000 and Rs 23000 for the 128GB storage variant.

 
On Flipkart, if you choose to exchange your OnePlus 3T, you will get Rs 9,300 while Amazon will offer Rs 9,012 for the exchange. 

So, next time you see a shiny smartphone deal on Flipkart of Amazon that offers a cool exchange price for your old phone just make sure that you find a deal that is worth its price!
