Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro Alpha sale: Buy smartphones for just Rs 855 even before launch

Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro Alpha sale: The highly-awaited Redmi K20 series by Xiaomi is set to arrive in India on July 17, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has already confirmed through its tweets and media invites. The K20 series includes two flagship smartphones - the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro - the latter claimed to be the fastest smartphone in the market till date. Both the smartphones are expected to go on sale in India after their official launch only. But, what if we told you that you can buy them even before the launch is held? Sounds unbelievable, right! Just that, it's not. 

Xiaomi, on Monday, announced an 'Alpha Sale' for the upcoming Redmi K20 series of smartphones. The first-of-its-kind sale by the brand, offers Mi Fans and buyers with an opportunity to pre-book the smartphone prior to its much-anticipated launch. The Redmi K20 series was launched in China last month and is the first flagship lineup under the Redmi brand. 

Xiaomi said that as part of the Alpha Sale, Mi Fans will be able to reserve a Redmi K20 series smartphone for themselves and get the device before it reaches the wider market. Giving the details about this sale, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer said that customers will be able to reserve a unit for themselves starting 12 noon on July 12 for a token amount of Rs 855 across Mi.com and Flipkart. However, the customers need to keep in mind that this would only be the initial amount and you will have to pay the entire amount after the smartphone is launched on July 17. 

"Alpha Sale amount, if not redeemed, will automatically be refunded to the respective Mi.com account, while Flipkart users will be able to use the coupon for any other purchase on the platform," Xiaomi said, in a statement released on Monday. 

The Redmi K20 series teaser has now gone live on Flipkart. The page suggests that the smartphone will be available on the e-commerce site and also teases a few of its features. The pages confirms that the series would come with AI triple camera setup, in-display fingerprint sensor, pop-up selfie camera setup, Snapdragon processor, Aura Prime design, among others.
