The launch comes ahead of the festive season buying frenzy that envelops India ahead of Diwali. Notably, Redmi 8A has been launched with a massive 5000mAh battery that comes with support for USB Type-C 18W fast charging. The Redmi 8A price in India starts at Rs 6,499 for the base variant and it will compete against Realme 3i, Motorola E6s and Infinix Hot 8 in the Indian market.

The Redmi 8A price in India has been set at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant while the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant will cost you Rs 6,999. The smartphone will go on sale through Mi.com and Flipkart starting September 29, 11:59 pm. Redmi 8A will also be available at Mi Homes and other offline stores from September 30.
The phone will come in three colour options - Midnight Black, Sunset Red and Ocean Blue.

Redmi 8A features and specifications
The Redmi 8A features a 6.22-inch (15.8cm) Dot Notch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset unlike most budget smartphones that use MediaTek processor. The phone also supports a dedicated microSD car that allows storage expansion up to 512GB. The biggest highlight of the phone is its 5000mAh high-capacity two-day battery that comes with 18W fast charging support on the Type-C port (10W fast charger inside the box).
For optics, the phone comes with 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor. It also has a 8MP selfie camera.
