Xiaomi unveils Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus; here're the features
Both Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are dual sim android phones and have similar features except their storage capacity, camera and RAM.
The smartphone maker Xiaomi has officially launched two new model Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus at an event held in China.
Manu Kumar Jain, global Vice President of Xiaomi, tweeted on December 7, saying, “Today we launched two new smartphones in China: #Remi5 and #Redmi5Plus.”

Redmi 5
Redmi 5 smartphone comes with a 5.70-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1440 pixels at a PPI of 282 pixels per inch.
It is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and has 2GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage that can be expandable. Further, it packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
Overall it runs on android 7.1.2 and is powered by a 3300mAh non-removable battery.
Redmi 5 Plus
The new device comes with a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) 18:9 display with a 403ppi pixel density and a 84 percent NTSC colour gamut.
Also powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC along with 3/4GB of RAM, the Redmi 5 Plus comes with 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage expandable up to 256 GB via micro SD.
Redmi 5 Plus has 6 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash along with 13 mega pixel secondary camera.
Running on Android 7.1.1, Redmi 5 Plus has a battery power of up to 4,000mAh Li-pol unit that supports quick charge.
Both the phones offer connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G and sensor options like Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
In India, Redmi 5 is expected to be priced at Rs 10,999 and the Redmi 5 Plus at Rs 12,999.
For now, these two phones will debut in China market having colours like Black, Blue, Pink and Gold. While Redmi 5 is expected to be priced at CNY799 or CNY899 ($120/$135), while the Redmi 5 Plus would be sold for CNY999 or CNY1,299 ($150/$195).
