From the past two months, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has been calculating IIP data in the new base year of 2011-12 from previous 2004-05 year.
Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is set to announce India's monthly macro-economic data on July 12, 2017. The Ministry will be releasing retail inflation or Consumer Price Index (CPI) and factory output or Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data.

Under the new base year (2011-12), IIP for the month of April 2017 stood at 3.1% on year-on-year basis. IIP was at 2.7% in the month of March 2017 as against a drop of 1.2% in February 2017.
The rupee has depreciated by 15 paise to 64.39 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday ahead of the government's release of IIP and Inflation data later in the day.

The Ministry will be releasing Index of Industrial Production (IIP) or factory output data for the month of March and Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation or retail inflation for the month of April.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry in a statement on Friday said that India's Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 180.1 in February 2017 rising by 1% as against the same month of last year. The index grew 4.4% between April 2016 to February 2017, data show.
