The national capital Delhi secured 7th position among the top ten cities in the Q1 2019 survey by Knight Frank Prime Global Cities Index. The Knight Frank Prime Global Cities Index takes into consideration the top 45 cities in the world and then chalks down the development in the prices of luxury residential prices.
Delhi, the only Indian city to come among the top ten, witnessed a 5.8% rate of growth in the last twelve months, 4.45 in three months. Meanwhile IT hub Bengaluru saw a growth rate of 2% in twelve months, maintaining a rate of 0.8% for three months. There was a 0.6% growth rate seen in twelve months, 0.3% for three months in the city of Mumbai.
Europe outperformed when it comes to luxury home prices securing seven positions in the top ten. The top European cities had a rate of change of price as: Berlin (14%), Frankfurt (9.6%), Edinburgh (7.6%), Paris (7.5%), Zurich (5.2%), Madrid (5.15%) and Geneva (5%). Moscow grabbed the second position with rate of change of 12% and placed at number four, Tokyo had a rate of change of 8.4%.
In the west, Miami leads the four US cities, at position 16, with its appeal boosted by the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction ruling, which has sparked a rise in the number of US tax migrants heading to Florida given the absence of income tax and inheritance tax as well as favorable corporate tax rates
