Asus ROG Phone 2 with Snapdragon 855+ chipset, 120Hz refresh rate launched in India at just Rs 37,999
The latest gaming smartphone by Asus was unveiled at a launch event in New Delhi. With this, Asus ROG Phone 2 has become the first smartphone to come with this processor in India.
Probably, the world's most powerful smartphone - Asus ROG Phone 2 - with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset and 120 Hz screen refresh rate was launched in India on Monday afternoon. The latest gaming smartphone by Asus was unveiled at a launch event in New Delhi. With this, Asus ROG Phone 2 has become the first smartphone to come with this processor in India. It comes three days before OnePlus 7T which is expected to be powered by the same chip as well. The other highlights of the Asus ROG Phone 2 is its massive 6000 mAh battery and up to 12GB RAM.
Asus ROG Phone 2 price in India and offers
The Asus ROG Phone 2 price in India has been set at Rs 37,999 for the base variant that comes with 8GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the top-end variant that comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage would cost you Rs 59,999. The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart.
The smartphone was launched in China starting at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs 35,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, with the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 60,000). In Europe, an Ultimate Edition with 12GB RAM + 1TB storage was launched at EUR 1,199 (roughly Rs 95,000), while the regular Asus ROG Phone 2 was launched with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage at EUR 899 (roughly Rs 71,400).
The Asus ROG Phone 2 will be available on Flipkart, during special sale of Big Billion Days. It will go on sale from September 30 at 12 noon. As part of launch offers, Asus is offering 6-month no cost EMI option and also all the Big Billion Days sale offers will be applicable on the smartphone as it is.
Asus ROG Phone features and specs
The Asus ROG Phone 2 comes with a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED 120Hz HDR display that features an in-display fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 9 Pie (with the ROG UI skin atop). Here, you have the option to go for ZenUI as well. As mentioned above, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC which is claimed to give 15 per cent better performance than Snapdragon 855 which has been used on this year's flagship devices like Asus 6z, OnePlus 7 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro.

For optics, the Asus ROG Phone 2 comes with a dual rear camera setup with 48-megapixel primary lens and 13-megapixel secondary lens. On the front, you get a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone also includes dual-front facing speakers and two Type-C USB ports. It packs a 6,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0.
