Xiaomi is expected to launch its gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 on May 27 and it is likely to be sold on e-commerce website Flipkart. Even though there is no official confirmation on this by Xiaomi, the online shopping platform has released a teaser on its Instagram account, revealing that the phone will arrive in India on Monday. The smartphone was launched earlier this year in China and is expected to come with unique Gamepad 2.0 controller and other accessories. It is expected to go on sale on the e-commerce platform from the same date.
In China, the 6GB RAM/128GB storage model of the Black Shark 2 is priced at CNY 3,200 (roughly translates to Rs 33,000) while the 12GB RAM/256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 4,200 (roughly translates to Rs 43,000). The official India price will be announced when the smartphone is launched and is expected to be highly competitive as most of Xiaomi's other smartphones in the country.
It will take on other gaming smartphones from brands like Asus, Nubia and Razer, among other brands.
The smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch OLED display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with X24 modem paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It has a fingerprint sensor under the display and is backed by 4,000 mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.
The Black Shark 2 has a primary 48-megapixel camera and a secondary 12-megapixel camera on the back panel. If it comes with the same camera module in India, it will become Xiaomi's third smartphone to have 48MP camera in the country. On the front, the Black Shark 2 includes a 20-megapixel camera for selfies. The phone comes in two colours -- frozen silver and shadow black. But, the variants could be different in India.
